Please subscribe to my channel because it means a lot. And the first review MIGHT NOW be posted for a while im not sure. My channel also does not have only movie reviews. A stunt rider Luke Glanton (Ryan Gosling) decides to rob banks to make aome extra money to support his new family when his life crashes into new police man Avery (Bradley Cooper).

First off I will say that Derek Clanfrance did a fantastic job handling this film. He showed how important a fathers role can be in the development of a child. This movie can really be broken down into three parts. Number one, the Fathers. Number two, corruption. And finally three, the children.

I’ll start with the fathers. Both fathers have small children only a few months apart. Bradely Cooper did a fantastic job showing what tremendous guilt you would feel lying and then becoming the town hero for it. Ryan Gosling did an incredible job  portraying what it would be like not being able to spend time with your son. The one thing I’m leaving out is Eva Mendes. She played Luke’s lover, Romina, amazingly and brought tears to my eyes.

The next part of the film is about corruption in the police department. This portion of the film centers around Bradley Cooper in the police force. It shows corruption that could easily go on today behind closed doors. It has every thing from smuggling money and working with criminals. It also shows how it takes courage to stand up for the right thing.

The third section, and in my opinion the best, is about drug use with the children of Luke and Avery. This section has spectacular performances from Dane DeHaan and Emory Cohen who play Jason and A.J. They portray drug addicted children incredibly. They also show what influence, or lack of an influence, a father can have on a child. I think James DeHaan was at his best as Jason because one, he always looks like he is high and therefore fit the role perfectly, and secondly he is wonderful when portraying the social outcast.

So to wrap things up I would definitely see this film. So far this is my favorite film I have seen all year. Also some of the best performances I have seen all year so check it out.

Upcoming Superhero Movies

I’m not going to lie, Christoper Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy is fantastic. In fact, The Dark Knight could possibly be my favorite movie of all time. I recently found out of DC’s plans to make a Justice League movie in the next few years or so. I was super excited because you this would mean more Batman, Alfred, and his countless villains, right? But sadly, no, Christopher Nolan has declared that Christian Bale’s portrayal of Batman is done for good. This was a huge disappointment to me because those movies are absolutely outstanding. However there is still hope for this Justice League movie. It was recently announced that another Superman reboot directed by Zack Snyder, director of Watchmen, was in the making. Oh and another important detail is that this movie is produced by CHRISTOPHER NOLAN. This is huge considering that there was a statement released stating that this Superman reboot is the first step into the Justice League movie. (Not counting that Green Lantern movie I am still trying to forget) This means that perhaps the Nolan-Batman universe might intertwine with this universe after all. At the end of the Dark Knight Rises when Blake, or Robin as we find out his real name is, inherits the Bat-cave, it could be mean that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will portray the Dark Knight in the Justice League film. I mean he would be a gritty, Dark Knight-esque Robin, but nonetheless I would be happy to know how he is getting along cleaning up the streets of Gotham. Oh and I mustn’t forget that there are talks of a Flash movie, and a Wonder Woman movie to set it up more. Wait, where have I seen this before? A bunch of individually made superhero movies leading up to one big collaboration? Thats right, The Avengers! It looks like D.C. is a little jealous of Marvel and is looking to travel the same path. Lets take every one of our popular superheroes and put them into separate movies, then into one big one. Sounds like a good plan, right? The only question is what superheroes will D.C. include? The only one that has been completely and utterly confirmed is Superman, but what about the rest? I am going to guess Flash and Wonder woman will be in there, but there has to be more, right? I’m not going to say that Ryan Reynold’s Green Lantern is going to be a part of this franchise after a huge flop like the one they experienced, but there still is a great chance it will happen. Batman is a real wildcard in this situation because Christopher Nolan was determined to have a realistic feel in the Dark Knight Trilogy. But now you are taking a realistic superhero and putting him in a team where the heroes have lasers shooting from their eyes. I’m not sure how they would do this, so I’m going to say Batman being in these films is up in the air. Next we come to a couple of misfits, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. The problem with Aquaman is that, well let’s be honest, he is useless unless he is constantly five feet from the ocean. I think maybe it would be cool if he could control all water around him, or there could be a scene at an ocean where he helps, but other than that Aquaman would be a little  boring in this movie. Next we come to Martian Manhunter. Most of you have never heard of him or seen him so here is a picture:

A little strange, right? Basically he is a green martian stranded on earth with dozens of powers who is a regular member of the Justice League. The reason he might be a bad idea is: one, many have never heard of him, and two, he is a little bit over the top. I can see these points being an issue, yet I still feel like he should be in there. Well now that you know the scoop on these upcoming movies, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the Batman movies.

When Ron Burgandy (Will Ferrell) meets Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) he will pull out all of the stops to try to woo her.

Many things can be said about Anchorman but overall we can just say that it is funny. This movie has a steller cast composed of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and many more of our favorite actors. Adam McKay is a genius when it comes to comedy. He did great with movies like Talladega Nights and The Other Guys, and carries this on in Anchorman. Will Ferrell is at his best when he plays Ron Burgundy, the pompous, clueless news anchor that lands all of the ladies… except Veronica Corningstone. Christina Applegate proves that she once too, used to be attractive. All jokes aside she was fantastic in this film. So see this movie and remember… Stay Classy internet.

When Victoria and Lilly are abandoned in the forest “mama” takes care of them until they are rescued. When they are rescued, “mama” has a hard time letting go.

I’ll be honest and come out and say that horror movies aren’t my favorite in the world. They freak me out but, that still doesn’t impair my vision to know a good scary movie when I see it. I’ll tell you that this movie was the best horror movie that I had seen in a long time. Jessica Chastain showed her wide variety of acting talent by being in this movie. She could go from being a clueless woman in The Help, to being a CIA agent in Zero Dark Thirty, and now playing Anibel. She gave an excellent performance in this film. Andrés Muschietti did a steller job directing this film, and I will come out and say, it scared the hell out of me. There was at least three occasions where I almost soiled my pants. The actual monster called “mama” was absolutely terrific in the animation done to make her so terrifying. I would definitely see this movie but not one to bring the kids to.

5. The Incredible Hulk

It had a good plot line but this movie was great, but not up to par on some of the other Avenger movies. I also much prefer Mark Ruffalo to Edward Norton acting wise.

4. Captain America

Captain America: The First Avenger

Not the best job on Joe Johnston’s part but this film still had great action scenes that every one can enjoy.

3. Iron Man 2

url-2I will admit that this movie was mostly action-driven, but that did not stop me from still enjoying it.

2. Iron Man

Brilliant work by Jon Favrau and he did a wonderful job bringing this old comic book back to life.

1. The Avengers

050412-the-avengers

Definitely the best Avenger’s movie (so far) and was worth the sub par movies leading up to this grand finale. The plot was really good, and the action scenes were phenomenal.

John Matthews (Dwayne Johnson) goes undercover to bust drug dealers to reduce his son’s prison sentence.

I went to see this movie opening night and went in blind. I had no idea that it was based off a true story, and when I found out that just made me want to see the movie that much more. It was an enjoyable movie all in all. Definitely not some cinema masterpiece but I had fun watching the action scenes. Ric Roman Waugh did a job that met my expectations, but certainly did not exceed them.I guess it’s hard making the leap from stunt-man to director. In my opinion they could have had a much better movie if Dwayne Johnson had not been in it. He was just mediocre and at some points it was uncomfortable to watch him.  This would be a good film for a date night but nothing more than that. My advice is that if you have some free time and nothing better to do, go see this movie.
